NHL Same Game Parlays: Wednesday (Panthers vs. Oilers)

The highly anticipated Stanley Cup Finals rematch between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers gets underway Wednesday night from Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Connor McDavid and the Oilers will look to avenge their Game 7 loss to the Panthers in the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals by taking advantage of home ice during Game 1.

Oddsmakers value Edmonton as a marginal home favorite on the moneyline at -125 odds. The goal total is set to 6.5, with juice on under 6.5 at -134 odds. The Panthers have won five straight road games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, while the Oilers are 6-1 SU at home.

Last week’s +205 NHL Same Game Parlays lost on the final leg, as Oilers D Evan Bouchard failed to record a point during Edmonton’s 4-1 win over Dallas in Game 4. Fortunately, I’m back with another three-leg NHL Same Game Parlay to tail ahead of Game 1 tonight.

NHL Same Game Parlays: Florida Panthers vs. Edmonton Oilers

                                (Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

                                Florida Panthers (+102) vs. Edmonton Oilers (-122) | O/U 6.5 (+108/-132)

                                Edmonton Oilers Moneyline (-122)

I have complete confidence in Edmonton to start aggressive early in Game 1 and take the lead. Goaltender Stuart Skinner has been red hot since returning to the net, posting three shutouts and holding the Stars’ offense to five total goals during the final four games of the Western Conference Finals.

Sergei Bobrovsky is also a talented netminder for Florida but he’s been inconsistent at times during the playoffs. Bobrovsky finished his series against Carolina with a .905 save percentage and 2.44 GAA, while Skinner logged a .924 save percentage against a Stars offense with much more talent than the Hurricanes.

Florida has a ton of depth and imposes their will physically, so Edmonton will need to adjust to the tempo Paul Maurice’s team prefers to execute. However, the Oilers have a more dynamic offense and the top powerplay unit in the league.

McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Evan Bouchard, Corey Perry and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have all been integral pieces for Edmonton’s offense. Florida’s offense won’t be able to match their intensity and pace, especially if Skinner continues bringing his A-game in the crease.

The Oilers are elite at home and have extra motivation from a year ago, so let’s insert their moneyline for Leg 1 at -125 odds.

                                Under 7.5 Total Goals (-350)

We’re playing with a bit of fire on a goal total under between the top two offenses in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, Stuart Skinner and Sergei Bobrovsky are at the top of their game.

We’re buying a goal at under 7.5 total goals at -350 odds. The Panthers have gone over 7.5 total goals twice in their last nine games, although two of those matchups were in Game 3 and Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Oilers have gone over 7.5 total goals twice in their last eight games, which includes their last outing during a 6-3 Game 5 win over Dallas.

I can definitely see Game 1 winding up 3-3 at the end of regulation, so let’s buy the goal and insert under 7.5 total goals for Leg 2 of our NHL Same Game Parlay at -350 odds.

Aaron Ekblad 60 Min Player To Record 1+ Shots On Goal (-520)

I’m going to go back to the well here and play Florida D Aaron Ekblad to record 1+ shots on goal during regulation at -580 odds. Ekblad is a utility weapon for the Panthers on both ends of the rink, including their top powerplay unit.

Ekblad has logged 1+ shots on goal during regulation in 12 of 13 playoff games. He averages well over 20 minutes of time on ice and benefits from skating alongside the Panthers’ top scorers and playmakers in the offensive zone.

This is the juiciest leg of our NHL Same Game Parlay but I’m willing to stake it on a player of Ekblad’s usage and talent.

                                NHL SGP (+168)

The 2025 Stanley Cup Finals NHL Same Game Parlay for Game 1 features three different betting markets that winds up at +168 odds. We need the Oilers to win a relatively low-scoring game, while backing one player to record a shot on goal during regulation.

Leg 1 requires backing Edmonton on the moneyline. This is good value considering how well the Oilers have played at home during the playoffs.

Leg 2 has us buying one goal and grabbing under 7.5 total goals in the alternate total betting market. This is primarily driven by the elite play of goaltenders Stuart Skinner and Sergei Bobrovsky.

Leg 3 brings us to Panthers D Aaron Ekblad to record 1+ shots on goal during regulation at -520 odds. He’s a great two-way player that can get pucks on the net quickly, hitting this prop in 12 of 13 playoff games.

Let’s enjoy Game 1 of the 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Finals tonight and celebrate once this +168 NHL Same Game Parlay settles as a win.
