Avalanche vs. Stars NHL Playoffs Best Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Colorado Avalanche (-166) at Dallas Stars (+140) | O/U 5.5 (-105/-115)
The Avalanche's offense came up big in Game 6, forcing a winner-take-all Game 7. They racked up seven goals in Game 6. It was the second time they scored five or more.
Game 6 was close for the first 40 minutes, with Dallas holding a 4-3 lead. That third period was all Colorado, though, with four unanswered goals en route to a 7-4 win.
It's another example of the Stars’ recent inconsistency. Towards the end of the season, when they were struggling, their defense had been one of the worst in goals allowed and shots on goal. That blueline is still a problem, allowing the second-most shots on goal in the playoffs (36.5 per game).
Colorado’s offense is tough to contain, and the depth of this roster is showing. Eight players have at least four points, with Nathan MacKinnon leading the way with 10 points and a playoff-leading six goals.
Although both teams have won three games, the Avs have been the more dominant team, nearly doubling the shots on goal (214-167) and the majority expected goal share (52.83%). This is likely why the Stars are a big home underdog. Offensively, the Stars have the firepower to contend, but we're seeing the defense not able to hold up.
Pick: Avalanche 60-Minute Moneyline (+100)
