NBA Player Props & Bets: Thursday (Timberwolves vs. Thunder)
We are in the conference finals round of the NBA playoffs. After an electric game last night between the Pacers and Knicks, hopefully, we will get a similarly exciting contest tonight for what's been a great year. I hope we continue that trend tonight.
As always, monitor any potential news and lineup announcements. The best way to stay informed about NBA player props is to stay up-to-date with the latest news. That's not as prevalent in the playoffs, but you never know what might happen. The second-best way is to shop around at different sportsbooks. Player props rarely have identical odds across platforms, so ensure you get the best value. Let's get to it.
Unless specified otherwise, each bet will be for a single unit.
Thursday’s Best NBA Player Prop Bets
Last Time: 1-1 | Season: 165-120
Anthony Edwards Over 37.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds (-110 at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook)
After a disappointing Game 1 to open the series, there's no way I'm not buying stock in the Minnesota star to have an impressive performance tonight. He only shot 38% from the field on Tuesday and had a 23% usage rate, compared to his usual 30% on the season.
Edwards will likely play more minutes tonight, too, if this game remains close, and I trust his ability to take over. Oklahoma City is a tough defense, but this is a line Edwards has covered in 60% of his last 15 games and exactly half of his games this season. With his expected higher usage rate, significant pace-up spot and extended minutes, I see a big performance out of the Georgia product tonight.
Chet Holmgren Over 14.5 Points + Assists (-125 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
Chet Holmgren has made his presence known as Oklahoma City has made it deeper into the playoffs, covering this line in five of his last seven games. If Rudy Gobert gets into foul trouble tonight, this will be an easy line for Holmgren. Even if that isn't the case, I'm still buying stock here.
The Timberwolves’ defense has been solid these playoffs, but they've also been playing at a faster pace, hence the 218 total. The NBA Prop Bet Cheat Sheet projects this line closer to 17, and I second that notion while highly advising boarding the cheat sheet train as it's been the best betting tool I've used in all my gambling years. It is a great resource. Let's ride with multiple overs in Game 2.
