2025 Truist Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions: Best PGA Bets

The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course is the site for the 2025 Truist Championship this week. It’s a one-year substitute for Quail Hollow, which is being prepared for next week’s PGA Championship major.

Wissahickon is a par 70 that was designed by architect A.W. Tillinghast over a century ago. Located just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a field of the PGA Tour’s best 72 golfers will compete at this latest Signature Event. No cut line will be enforced on this 7,119 yard course that is set to make its PGA Tour debut this week.

Last week’s PGA Tour Best Bets at the 2025 CJ CUP Byron Nelson went 1-2. During Scottie Scheffler’s dominant win, the first of 2025 for the World No.1 golfer, no one else found themselves in legitimate contention. My three finishing position props lost on Sungjae Im Top 20 (+100) and Alex Smalley Top 30 (+160), with Im logging a T33 finish and Smalley carding a T39 finish. My lone winner cashed thanks to Jake Knapp’s -5-under-par finish in Round 4, climbing into a Top 40 finish (T39) at -120 odds.

Here’s three more PGA Tour best bets, each worth one-unit, to place ahead of Round 1 teeing off at the Philadelphia Cricket Club on Thursday morning. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more free bets and weekly PGA Tour analysis.

Top 10 Finish

I haven’t backed Justin Thomas a lot in 2025 and it’s left money on the table. We haven’t seen Thomas tee it up since his playoff win over Andrew Novak at the RBC Heritage a couple of weeks ago, ending a three-year win drought.

Thomas profiles well for a short, tight course like Wissahickon. He’s ranked fourth total strokes gained. This includes seventh SG: Approach, 20th SG: Putting and 29th in proximity. Being ranked second on par 4s and birdie average are also enticing metrics.

I expect Thomas will stay hot and record his sixth top 10 finish in 2025 at plus money. Let’s cash in on Thomas to log a T10 finish or better at +175 odds for the third time in four PGA Tour events.

Pick: Justin Thomas (+175)

Top 20 Finish

Shane Lowry is a tee-to-green tactician, which makes me like him heading to Wissahickon this week. The Irishman ranks sixth in total strokes gained, including 11th SG: Approach.

Lowry is 12th in proximity, 11th in scrambling, and 42nd in driving accuracy. With distance off-the-tee not being a priority at a short track like Wissahickon, Lowry becomes more appealing to log a Top 20 finish at +125 odds.

Let’s bet a unit on Lowry to pick up his seventh Top 20 finish of 2025 at a solid value.

Pick: Shane Lowry (+125)

Top 30 Finish

Andrew Novak is enjoying a career year on the PGA Tour. The North Carolina native ranks 23rd total strokes gained, 14th scrambling, and sixth in sand save percentage. The latter metric is most important at a course with over 100 bunkers like Wissahickon.

Novak ranks first on the PGA Tour in putts per round, 29th in putting average and ninth in one-putt percentage. The greens are undulated and tiered, measuring up to 13 feet via Stimpmeter. It’s going to be a difficult assignment for every golfer to conquer these greens but Novak’s confidence with the flat stick is encouraging.

He just recorded his first PGA Tour win with Ben Griffin during the PGA Tour’s lone team formatted event at the 2025 Zurich Classic. Let’s bet one final unit on Novak to log a Top 30 finish at the Truist Championship at -115 odds, especially after going T3 and P2 in his last two solo outings.

Pick: Andrew Novak (-115)
