2025 Truist Championship Golf Odds & Picks: Head-to-Head Matchups

The PGA Tour heads to The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course for the 2025 Truist Championship. Located in Flourtown, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia, this par 70 runs 7,119 yards and features over 100 bunker hazards.

It’s the latest Signature Event on the PGA Tour, meaning no cut line will be enforced. This is a small field, reserved for the 72 top-ranked golfers in the FedExCup standings.

Scottie Scheffler will not be in this field following his dominant breakthrough win at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson on Sunday, making Rory McIlroy the betting favorite at +450 odds. Other notable favorites include Collin Morikawa (+1400), Xander Schauffele (+1600), Justin Thomas and Ludvig Aberg (+1800), as well as Patrick Cantlay at +2000 odds.

Last week’s PGA Tour CJ CUP Byron Nelson Head-to-Head Matchups were close to going 2-0. We cashed a sweat-free ticket on Scottie Scheffler to win Group A at -140 odds. Jake Knapp finished T39, one stroke back from Harry Hall’s T33 finish to win Group D, failing to hit on Knapp’s +320 odds prop.

I’ve got a pair of head-to-head Truist Championship bets to place before Round 1 tees off at Wissahickon Course on Thursday. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more PGA free bets and weekly analysis throughout the 2025 PGA Tour season.

Tournament Groups – Tournament Trio – Fleetwood, Henley, Lowry

This is Wissahickon’s debut on the PGA Tour, so it’s going to be fun to watch the best golfers try to tackle a new course. Accuracy is favored over power and distance at the Truist Championship this week, meaning I’m going to back the best ball-strikers on the PGA Tour.

One of these tee-to-green specialists is Russell Henley. Henley has an outright win already in 2025 and he’s ranked fifth in total strokes gained. This includes 15th SG: Approach, 14th SG: Putting and third at finding greens in regulation. Henley is also fourth in proximity, scoring average, par 4s and birdie average.

There’s too much not to like to back Henley over Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry at +170 odds. Yes, Lowry is equally impressive on approach, while Fleetwood is strong off-the-tee. However, neither golfer has the putting prowess on top of their approach shots like Henley.

Let’s bet a unit on Henley to upset the favorite in this Tournament Trio prop, Tommy Fleetwood (+160), during the 2025 Truist Championship this week.

Pick: Russell Henley (+170)

Tournament Groups – Tournament Trio – McNealy, Im, Berger

Maverick McNealy is the betting favorite to win his Tournament Trio prop over Sungjae Im and Daniel Berger. I tend to agree, especially after watching the 29-year-old record a pair of T3 finishes in his last three events played.

McNealy was in contention for most of the RBC Heritage during the final round before Justin Thomas and Andrew Novak pulled away. McNealy has five top 10 finishes in 2025 and ranks 24th in total strokes gained. He’s 33rd SG: Approach and 22nd SG: Putting, while averaging 4.23 birdies per round and finding 68.9 percent of greens in regulation (34th) this season.

Sungjae Im’s approach shots rank outside the top 170 and he’s struggled with consistency. Berger is solid tee-to-green but can’t match McNealy’s putting ability. Let’s bet one more unit on McNealy at a great price as a favorite to win his Tournament Trio at +165 odds.

Pick: Maverick McNealy (+165)
