2025 RBC Heritage Golf Odds & Picks: Head-to-Head Matchups

RBC Heritage marks the latest Signature Event on the 2025 PGA Tour circuit. Following Rory McIlroy’s dramatic and long-awaited win at the Masters, golf fans and bettors will enjoy watching another loaded field compete at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina this week.

Scottie Scheffler returns as the defending champion at the RBC Heritage. To no one’s surprise, oddsmakers have Scheffler valued as the outright betting favorite ahead of his return at +360 odds. He’s followed by Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Aberg, Patrick Cantlay and Justin Thomas, ranging from +1100 to +2000 odds.

My Masters head-to-head bets were focused on matchup props during every round. However, two weeks ago, my Valero Texas Open Head-to-Head Matchups in the Tournament Group betting market on DraftKings Sportsbook went 2-0. Corey Conners’ T18 finish cashed a +350 ticket for us, while Jordan Spieth’s T12 finish cashed another +280 wager.

Let’s try to replicate our lucrative outing at TPC San Antonio with another similar result at Harbour Town during the 2025 RBC Heritage. This time, I’ll be investing in an alternate betting market, Trio Winner. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more PGA free bets and weekly analysis throughout the 2025 PGA Tour season.

Tournament Groups – Trio Winner – Aberg, Cantlay, Thomas

Ludvig Aberg is the betting favorite in the first Trio Winner market against Patrick Cantlay and Justin Thomas. Aberg’s T10 finish in 2024 could’ve been even better if not for a +1 in the final round.

Patrick Cantlay has been dominant at Harbour Town throughout his career. Cantlay’s gone 2-3-T3 in each of his last three appearances at RBC Heritage. Justin Thomas carded a T5 finish in 2024 and a T25 finish at this event in 2023.

Cantlay’s being undervalued here due to Aberg’s presence in this group. Cantlay ranks 18th SG: Approach, ninth at finding greens in regulation (70.8%) and 24th putting average. He’s also seventh on par 4s and 26th in birdie average at 4.28 per round.

Let’s back the consistent option in this Trio Winner market and bet a unit on Cantlay to beat Aberg and Thomas at Harbour Town this week.

Pick: Patrick Cantlay (+180)

Tournament Groups – Trio Winner – Spaun, Harman, Bhatia

Brian Harman’s been another consistent golfer at Harbour Town in recent years. Coming off of an outright win at the Valero Texas Open in windy conditions, Harman will have more mild elements to face in Hilton Head this week.

Harman’s logged a T7 finish in 2023 and a T12 finish in 2024 at RBC Heritage. He’s ranked 39th for driving accuracy, 21st proximity, and 27th at finding greens in regulation at 69.1 percent.

Some of his underlying metrics look bad. Yet, Harman’s in good form, posting the outright win at TPC San Antonio and going under par in three of four rounds at the Masters.

J.J. Spaun has had a strong campaign in 2025, while Akshay Bhatia has also strung together some quality rounds. However, neither of these golfers have played better than Harman in recent years at Harbour Town. Bhatia did card a T18 finish in 2024 but missed the cut in 2023. Spaun also missed the cut in 2023 and 2022, while not competing in 2024.

Harman is tied with Spaun in this Trio Winner market at +175 odds, while Bhatia is a marginal underdog at +180 odds. Let’s bet one more unit on Brian Harman to cash this Trio Winner prop at +175 odds.

Pick: Brian Harman (+175)
