2025 PGA Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions: Jordan Spieth
Rory McIlroy's thrilling victory at The Masters last month set up some compelling storylines for the second major of the season, the 2025 PGA Championship, which will be played this week at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.
McIlroy completed the career grand slam with his win at Augusta. If he wins again this week, he'll be halfway to a true grand slam. McIlroy has fared well at Quail Hollow throughout his career, having won four tournaments there. It's a course that favors big hitters — right up McIlroy's alley.
But McIlroy isn't even the favorite this week. That would be Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the world. Scheffler cruised to an eight-shot victory at his most recent event, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
Will golf fans be treated to a duel between McIlroy and Scheffler? Or will other top players intervene? Defending PGA champ Xander Schauffele is certainly capable of repeating. Justin Thomas and Ludvig Aberg have been hot lately. LIV Tour star Bryson DeChambeau has been frisky in recent majors, and other LIV players — Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Tyrrell Hatton and others — could contend.

Stats to Know
- DraftKings Odds to Win: +5000
- World Ranking: 46
- Best PGA Championship finish: 2 (2015)
- Last four PGA Championship finishes: 30, 34, 29, 43
- Last four tournament finishes: 14, 18, 4, 34
Course History
While he has made favorable comments about Quail Hollow in the past, Spieth does not have a long history at the course. He played in the 2017 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, finishing t28. At the 2024 Wells Fargo Tournament he finished 29th and he missed the cut in 2023 and 2022. However, he did win all five matches during the President's Cup in 2022 (with Davis Love III). He has been the runner-up at the PGA Championship before (2015) and placed t3 in 2019. But his last five trips have not been great (t71, t30, t34, t29, and t43).
Recent Form
Spieth is having a good season so far. Of the 11 tournaments he has entered, he made the cut in ten, finished in the top 25 in six and top ten in three. His best finish of the year came at the WM Phoenix Open and the CJ Cup Byron Nelson where he finished t4 and fourth. Last week he played in the Truist Championship and finished t34.
Betting Outlook: 2025 PGA Championship Predictions
Other than last weekend's t34, Spieth has finished inside the top 30 at his last five tournaments. While he is certainly a capable golfer, considering his history at Quail Hollow, the only bets I'd recommend are for him to finish in the top 30 (+100) and to make the cut (-240).
